GARNIER OLIA OIL POWERED PERMANENT COLOR

As you all know, I was selected as a Bzzagent to try this product for free and review it (awesome right?)

Here are the claims:

The oil powered technology propels colorants deep into the hair, without ammonia, giving you pure, vivid, long-lasting color. Olia visibly improves and restores hair as the oils help to reverse roughness and dullness for more brilliant, dimensional color and softer, shinier hair with more bounce.

And my thoughts???

I'll admit, at first I thought "Nothing super special here". Sure, the smell was great (hate ammonia smell)but the application didnt blow me away. It wasnt until after I rinsed it out that I was truly "wowed". I normally hate my hair for the first week after coloring. My roots never match the rest of my hair and I usually cover up my part since it looks like the color came out of a box. Not this stuff! I had even coverage, my grays were gone and my hair looked multi-dimensional. This will definitely be a repeat customer :)

Good job Garnier!!!!!!

GARNIER SKIN RENEW DARK SPOT PEEL

Today is the first day along my journey to rid myself of hyper pigmentation and age spots.  But, in order for me to take you along on this journey, I must start from the beginning.

I've been a member of Makeuptalk.com for several years now.  Recently, I came across a posting which talked about a website called Bzzagent.com.  This is a survey website which pairs you up with answers you give to specific questions, and they send you invites to all kinds of neat campaigns.  This is my first campaign, and I'm extremely excited!

I received my free bottle of Garnier Skin Renew Dark Spot Peel today in the mail.  I couldn't wait to rip it open!  From reading about it, Its a no brainer of a product.  No putting it on and waiting 15 minutes before I peel it off (painfully).  All I have to do is put it on, go to sleep and wake up (easy peasy right?)  It claims overnight I will see smoother, hydrated skin.  In one week, I'll see brighter skin.  4 weeks? Spots, Imperfections and acne marks are significantly reduced.

It claims to not clog pores, and is safe for all skin types and ethnicites.  Welcome to my journey.  Lets see where this puppy takes me :)

I'm really looking forward to the after!  Ill let you know tomorrow how it went after the first night *fingers crossed*

A Dream Come True!!!!!!

Anyone who knows my 3 y/o son, knows he is OBSESSED with school buses.  Not just a little but ALOT!  Everyday we get into the truck to go to school, his main focus is finding a school bus.  We have a little skit we do where I say "bus" (quietly) and he repeats it.  I get a little louder, "Bus" and he repeats it.  Then finally, really loud "BUS!!!!!" and he repeats.  Then we say "Where are you?" and he says "There it is!" even if he doesn't see one.

So, I drop him off everyday and even the other parents know his routine where he runs to the end of the school building just to watch the school buses that pull in to drop off the other children.  It's a routine for him.

Well, yesterday we had a little extra time to kill before the gates opened up so I told him "Lets go see the buses!".  We walked along the building and approached the two buses waiting to unload the kids.  To my surprise, the door all of a sudden opened and the bus driver asked us if we wanted to come aboard.

I was shocked!  And needless to say, Mikey was stunned silent.  The bus driver explained that he sees my son everyday waving to him thru the playground gates and notices him every morning running to the end of the building just to catch a peek at the buses.

It didn't take but a minute for Mikey to regain his senses and he RAN up those steps.  The look of amazement on my little boys face was priceless!  I only wish I had brought my camera with me so I could have captured the moment.  Honestly though, its something that I will NEVER forget.

We thanked the bus driver for the tour then headed into school to start our day.  I don't ever think I've seen a smile quite as big out of my son in a very long time.

The day warmed my heart and reminded me that its the little things in life that mean so much. Thank you Mr. Bus Driver for making my son's day, a day that we will forever remember!

NYX Roll On Shimmer

NYX had been running a special "12 Days of Giveaways" on Facebook these past 2 weeks.  I was lucky enough to have been selected to win the full set of their new Roll On Shimmers.  They may be the colors of eyeshadows but they claim they can be used on the eyes, face or body.  This I can attest to, there will be MAJOR fallout and this is not a long lasting color.  All colors are very pretty and my intention is to use them over my existing eyeshadow to bump up the shimmer.

The possibilities on some of these colors are endless.  I'm already planning on using some over my tan skin this summer to give me that beautiful "glow".  They are applied via a rollerball which is nice and easy (no need to carry around a brush) and the perfect size to just throw in your makeup bag and go.  They can be found on the NYX website for $6 each.

Welcome to Life and Lipgloss!!!!

A dear friend of mine has been bugging me for awhile to start blogging, so here I am.  Thank you Chelsey for being the relentless wonderful person that you are! I couldn't have done this without you.

I'm starting this blog because of my deep passion of everything beauty.  But the more I think about it, I have two extreme passions in my life and beauty is only second to my family.  So, I plan to not only to blog about all the wonderful discoveries in the beauty industry that I uncover, but of all the wonderful happenings of my family that make my life worth living.

Some days it may be a write-up on the newest and greatest beauty find and others about the silly things my kids and husband do/say.

Welcome to my blog everyone, I hope you enjoy the journey as much as I do!

Karen
